What is it about?

Throughout our journey, we want to encourage the desire to act and spark action on climate and social crises, by opening up spaces to share knowledge, ideas, testimonials and utopias. Through these discussion, we'll be highlighting existing initiatives in Europe and bringing to light desirable futures, for our planet as well as for ourselves. We want to get in contact with both those who are convinced and those for whom ecology is a negatively perceived subject. To bring this gap and discuss with diverses audiences we are having a variety of community education actions with different themes, location and participants.

Building a desirable future

The following workshops provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and gain a better understanding of the systemic phenomenon of climate change. Most of them focus on our representations and our imaginations, and aim to produce positive projections to initiate coherent ecological action.

Roaring 2030s

With the Roaring 2030s, participants are invited to travel to 2030 through a utopian conversation that will give them the opportunity to draw together the contours of a more sustainable and inclusive society 10 years from now.

Ecological rebirth fresco

The Ecological Renaissance Fresco is a workshop that allows participants to collectively imagine a sustainable society. Gathered around a 3 x 1 metre frieze, participants formulate proposals for local ecological policies.

Fresco of new Narratives

Participants are invited to create a different kind of society through a fun, collaborative workshop. It mixes a theoretical part to understand the different climatic beliefs and a practical part with the writing of a new narrative that evolves this paradigm.

Reaching out to a wide audience

Street animations are designed to take place anywhere, anytime. Their adaptability and flexibility with regard to the number of participants make them ideal tools for opening up discussions and, why not, inviting people to one of our indoor events.

Les porteurs de paroles

Jérôme Guillet, creator of the event: "Les Porteurs de paroles is [...] an exhibition of reported comments: we post a question in the street, discuss it with those who wish to answer it and then take from these exchanges one or more sentences that we write on panels that we post in turn, in a cumulative process".

Forum theater workshops

Forum theater is a tool that allows people to work together to come up with alternative solutions to the world's problems using theater. To do this, we prepare short sketches depicting problematic situations linked to ecology.

Fresco quiz

The Fresque quiz is a quick version of the climate fresco that can be installed anywhere. Its aim is to appeal to a public who don't have much time to ask a few questions about their knowledge of how our climate works, and then to invite them to take part in a workshop to find out more.

Fun of learning

Games are the preferred way for humans to learn. The fun and motivation inherent in games improve participants' receptiveness. Based on this observation, CliMates has developed two serious games to stimulate public interest in the political decision-making process.

COP in my city

COP in My City is a COP simulation that lets participants put themselves in the shoes of political decision-makers and discuss strategies for achieving a temperature rise of less than 2°C by 2100.
